Our First Christmas!

This year has gone by SO quickly...but this is our first Christmas together! Last Christmas we weren't engaged yet and I was in Texas celebrating Christmas while Mark was in Utah. My parents are coming up for Christmas this year, and we are SO excited to spend Christmas with them! We haven't seen them since the wedding! It will be lots of fun, I am MOST excited to go skiing! WOO! So anyway, we decided to celebrate OUR Christmas early...so we did it at our own apartment today (Dec. 20th) and it was so much fun! Last night we read Luke 2 in the scriptures, Twas the Night Before Christmas, and The Polar Express, then we watched The Polar Express! Today we opened presents, played with the presents that Santa brought us, made cookies, and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas! It has been such a fun Christmas day together, but we are definitely excited to spend time with family! We are going to spend a few days with the Jackman family until my family gets here, and we are SO excited to see them! Especially Jerica and Kyle & Alyssa! Jerica has been in California working her tail off during her semester off, and we are so proud of her but we are SO excited to have her back in Rexburg with us next semester :) And Kyle & Alyssa moved to Arizona for med school, so we haven't seen them since our wedding. Can't wait to see their cute family that has grown so much since we saw them last! This Christmas is going to be crazy! And we are more than excited! :)

Here was our Christmas:

We took these pictures Sunday afternoon (our Christmas Eve). I can't decide which one I like the best, so I'm putting both on!

Santa knew how much we LOVE movies!!! When we get rich (in our dreams....some day......) we are going to have a movie theater in our house! It is our dream...and with how many movies we have, and will have by then...the movies are going to need their own room! Lol :) We love movies, so we got a lot this Christmas! I am a fan of Chick Flicks....so I was excited to see how many we got :) Oh and we love Hastings...so many movies for so cheap! It is usually buy 2 get the 3rd for $1, and the movies can be as cheap as $3.00 each...it's crazy. And amazon is another best friend of ours :)
We are starting a tradition that we give each other P.J.'S on Christmas Eve. I've heard of other people doing that, and I just love that idea and wanted to start it with us! So I got Mark some Mario P.J.'S and he LOVES them! Can't you tell how excited he is?
These are some of Mark's favorite presents! He has a guitar, but doesn't really know how to play it...so I got him a class on DVD! Another of his favorite was the skookie. He also got some clothes and other little things, but these were the top picks!
This was my favorite part...he got a man scrubber!!! Hahaha. It still makes me laugh. :D
This was probably his all time FAVORITE present this year! A head massager. He just keeps it on his head like a hat...it's great. Oh and I got him that hat too! It's his favorite and he has lost 2 since I met him...hopefully he won't lose this one!
The most awesome stocking stuffer EVER! Straw glasses! So much fun! And notice what is on his head.... :)
On Christmas Eve, I opened my P.J.'S! So comfy!
BOOTS! I got boots for Christmas and I am SO excited!!!! I've been looking for some cute boots that I like, and I got them!!! Aren't they cute???
Yes, I know...I should be a shoe model ;)
Mark spoiled me this year :) I've been wanting the "Promise" from Willow Tree for a while...I point it out to Mark every time I see it. So he got it! And I love it! Oh and on the top shelf is our dinky but cute little nativity scene. It works for us right now!
These weren't for me, I actually got them for Mark...but I figured it is for both of us. Mark is the cook out of us too, but I am the baker. I am excited to use these cook books! Everything in them looks licious!
Okay, this might be embarrassing but what you are about to see is going to be my FAVORITE present that Mark gave me this year....it is sad, I know. Ever since I did my student teaching in Joane's classroom, I became addicted to children's books. So everywhere we go, I have to see what children's books they have. Mark noticed that I've been falling in love with Fancy Nancy...so he got my a whole bunch of her books!!! I hope we have a girl sometime...because if not, I guess my boys will just have to be learning how to read by reading Fancy Nancy Books. I want my girls to be like Nancy, being all fancy and such. They are such cute books, and I am excited to add them to my collection!
These are some more great books that Mark got me. He didn't even know I wanted these books, but they are SO perfect! Joane has the Incredible Storybook, and I thought it was such a fun book! And sure enough, even Mark loved reading it! He doesn't understand why I get so excited about books, but I think after reading that one, he finally gets it :)
My collection of Children's books is increasing, and I love it! Now all I need is children to read them to so I don't look like a complete idiot reading them all by myself...but I say that you are never too old for picture books!
This was a fun game that we got from Santa. Haven't played it yet...but it sure looks like fun!
Christmas afternoon, we finally made some christmas cookies! We made a lot more than we expected to...so we got a little bit tired of making them, if you can't tell. And we were getting frustrated because the dough was SO sticky.....and yeah. Lol, but that's okay. They turned out prefect and yummy!!!
This was our little gingerbread family that we made....haha.
Mark made this crazy looking face....I for one think it looks just like him ;)
The double big mac cookie! Who wants to eat it?!?! Come and get it! But you will have to pay $3.00.

This was my favorite. Lol...it was cool to watch the colors mix together like that. I am such a little kid...I love it!
And that, was our wonderful first Christmas together!!! Can't wait for the next events coming up this week!

Sounds fun! Saw your parents on Sunday so I'm glad I caught them before they left here.

I collected children's books long before I had kids as well. Love Fancy Nancy.
